Mills River Park at 124 Town Center Drive, Mills River, North Carolina.

Newer park with no established shade trees. Great diversity of outdoor facilities including tennis courts, dog park, large picnic shelter, restrooms, large playground, paved walking/biking trails, benches, and a small Henderson County library with a WiFi access.

It is a beautiful (tobacco-free) park. The playground is pretty good for younger kids. There are no swings. There is a building with bathrooms and water right between the playground and a paved trail that's basically just around a grassy field. There are several ball fields. This park also includes a dog park. There's 1 big fenced in area for all dogs. Leash may be removed once inside. There is also a much smaller fenced in area directly beside the main lot for smaller dogs only. Dogs are also welcome outside of the "dog park". They've placed posts with environmentally friendly doody-removal bags all over to ensure people pick up their dog's waste to prevent accidents like poop on your child's shoe. The older mom's will be the first to comment about a dog using the bathroom and have even been pushy/rude to people for basically not catching each turd as they fall to the ground.... Not really, but it seems this way at times. If you aren't at the pile as soon as your dog is done, you can bet someone will say something. And heaven forbid you don't have bags of your own and/or didn't think to grab some from one of the many posts at the beginning of your playtime. I've seen one mom nearly cuss a guy out because she assumed that he just ignored the fact that his dog had pooped or that he was just going to leave it when he was simply walking over to get one of the provided bags at the nearest post....

Overall, it's definitely not the worst park around, but it's also definitely not my (or my kids) favorite either.
