I took my classic car, a 1991 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur II, to John Bland at Genuine Transmission & Automotive, based on a recommendation of a fellow Rolls-Royce Owners' Club member. John has done some work on Bentley and Rolls-Royce cars, but he is not a specialist in them by any means. There were several issues that had to be addressed, including repairing the air conditioning and repairing the hydraulic brake system, which on this series of R-R cars is extremely complex. I also asked John to get a parking lot ding repainted and the seat leather repaired, along with several other things. Although the job took longer than I would have liked, I think there was quite a learning curve involved. I was impressed that John figured out the complicated hydraulic system, got the parts from several sources (Rolls-Royce parts aren't cheap!) and got it working right. He also figured out what was, and was not, wrong with the A/C system and got it fixed perfectly, replacing the A/C compressor, whereas even a guy who has worked on Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars for 40 years gave me the wrong information on what was wrong with the A/C. In the end, it all turned out well, and I would recommend John. I have a couple of other things that need to be done on the Spur, and I plan to take it back to him.
